Part of his postgraduate training was spent at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Consultant neurologist, Queen Square
Appointed consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and honorary senior lecturer in neuro-oncology.
Clinical lead, brain tumour unit
Led the brain tumour unit at Queen Square and served as pathway director for brain cancer at London Cancer.

Neurology expert member of the NICE committee that published the UK's national guidelines on the treatment of primary and secondary brain tumours.
Honorary Associate Professor, UCL
Eight years as Honorary Associate Professor at University College London. He also practised as a consultant neurologist at Cleveland Clinic London.

Head of Neuro-Oncology, Shaare Zedek
Now based in Jerusalem, leading neuro-oncology at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and seeing private patients in the hospital's Sharap unit.
Research and teaching
At Queen Square, Dr Rees led a research team investigating the role of multimodality imaging in the management of low-grade gliomas, the tumours at the centre of his clinical practice.
He has edited a textbook on neuro-oncology, written the chapters on intracranial tumours and paraneoplastic syndromes for the Oxford Textbook of Medicine, and has more than 80 publications.
He has run an educational course in neuro-oncology and lectures widely to doctors and other professional groups.
